Wherever the adventure takes you, Slipfree® has you covered!
👣 Slipfree® shoes are wonderfully stretchy, which means each size can comfortably cover more than one shoe size. Great news for fast-growing feet, but it does make choosing the right size a little different from what you might be used to.
👣 Because of this, it’s best not to rely solely on your child’s current shoe size. Traditional shoes often include extra growing room, so even if they’re still wearing a certain size, their feet may have already moved on. It can be a bit misleading, and that’s where measuring comes in.
👣 To get the best fit, we recommend a quick measure at home. Simply place your child’s foot on a piece of paper, mark the back of the heel and the tip of the big toe, and measure the distance between the two. It’s always worth measuring both feet, as one is often slightly bigger. Use the larger measurement and compare it to the maximum sole length in our size chart here.
👣 If your child's foot measures at the very top of the maximum sole length of a size eg if the top of big toe to heel measures exactly 12.5cm, then it would be the Size XS they would need as 12.5cm is the absolute maximum sole length on a size INF from front to back and therefore your child's foot would have no wiggle room and we want a little room for the toes to be relaxed and for a comfortable long lasting fit
👣 When trying them on, you’re looking for a little wiggle room around the toes for comfort and a long lasting wear. There is a 2cm jump in sole length between the Kids sizes, so if your little one is at the start of that size, they may feel a little roomy at first. In many cases, that extra space sits at the heel rather than the toes, but it’s still important to check the fit and make sure it feels secure and doesn’t create a trip risk.
👣 Measuring first and choosing second is the simplest way to get a comfortable, secure fit that’s ready for plenty of play.

Do you offer different widths for wide or narrow feet?
Our sizing is based on sole length with the width increasing with each size. We do not offer different widths per size. We find that Slipfree suit varying foot widths due to the super stretchy nature and elasticated ankle which holds the shoes on while swimming.

How should i care for my shoes?
After each use, give your Slipfrees a gentle rinse under the tap, especially after pool or beach sessions.
For a proper clean, a squirt of mild soap and warm (not hot) water does the trick. Dry them flat, inside-out, and they'll be ready for next time.
A few things to avoid:
- Don't machine wash
- Don't use harsh detergent or bleach
- Don't iron them (yes, really. We've heard stranger things)
How long should my Slipfree last?
A great question! That depends a lot on how enthusiastically your little one puts them through their paces! and whether the shoes are the right size for a long lasting wear.
The super thin soles can start to show signs of wear after lots of energetic play, particularly on rough surfaces. But you can expect a good stretch of splashy adventures before you need to think about replacing them. Any questions about wear and tear? Just drop us a message.
Can my baby wear socks with these at home in winter?
They absolutely can, in fact we encourage it, keeps those little toes extra snuggly. Barefoot in summer or at the pool and with socks in winter, works both ways.
Slipfree can be used in so many places for little ones, from swimming lessons, to holidays, at home and at bath time, as well as the garden or at nursery or play group .
Are these just for holidays?
Not at all! although they are brilliant on holidays helping keeping little ones safe and helping parents relax, Slipfree earn their keep all year round. Swimming lessons, indoor water parks, the local pool, a rainy day at the soft play, there are plenty of reasons to reach for them long after the suitcase is unpacked. Think of them less as holiday kit and more as a permanent fixture in the swim bag.
What makes Slipfree different to traditional beach shoes?
Traditional beach shoes tend to be chunky, rigid, and uncomfortable, and honestly a bit of a faff to get on and off little feet. Not to mention they usually come in one or two plain colours. Slipfree are designed to be different! They're so lightweight and flexible that little ones can wear them in the water to swim in as well as out of it, so there's no stopping to swap footwear at the water's edge. Little feet can move naturally in Slipfree rather than feeling weighed down by heavy, thick shoes, and they're slim enough to live in the swim bag (or day bag) without taking up half the space. And with so many fun, colourful designs to choose from, your little one will love to wear them.
Do the shoes stay on securely in water?
They do indeed! Slipfrees are designed to stay put, even when little legs are kicking away. That said, we always recommend checking the fit before heading in. A snug (but not tight) fit on the ankle is what you are looking for and a little wiggle room around the toes for comfort and a long lasting wear. Just make sure they are not too big which could cause a trip hazard!
Are these swim shoes suitable for babies who aren't walking yet?
Absolutely. Slipfree are designed with little ones in mind from the very start, including pre-walkers. They're soft, flexible, and lightweight, so they won't restrict natural foot movement or interfere with those important early developmental wiggles while helping protect precious feet on hot and slippery surfaces, from sharp objects and infection.
