How to get the size right

Slipfree sizes aren't always the same as everyday shoe sizes, so it's worth measuring before you buy, especially for a surprise. Measure from heel to longest toe, then check it against the sole lengths in our full size guide.

A good fit means toes and heel aren't squashed, with a little wiggle room, but no baggy fabric that could catch. If a child's foot is right at the top of a size, go up one.

Buying for a child as a surprise? Draw round one of their everyday shoes' insoles instead, or ask a parent to measure at bath time.
